How do you prepare your work to be noticed? Where do you submit your poetry in order to enter ongoing conversations between poets? How do you find companionship, especially if you come from a marginalized community?

I offer manuscript editing and consultation for full-length manuscripts, chapbook-length manuscripts, and individual poems, as well as counseling on where and how to submit work. At the core of my approach is a sensitive yet honest evaluation of clients’ work, with an eye to the individual voice. Rather than merely offer what to cut and where to condense or change diction, I observe where an event is happening in poetry and seek to help it grow organically.

An immigrant from Russia, I have written poetry in English since I was fourteen. My original poetry and translations of poetry from Russian appear in major literary journals such as The Kenyon Review, Poetry International, The Mad Hatters’ Review, Jacket, and others. Mohsen Emadi has translated my poetry into Persian and published it in The Persian Anthology of World Poetry.  Various poems have been recognized by CALYX journal’s Lois Cranston Memorial Prize, the Cambridge Sidewalk Poetry Project, Poets & Patrons Contest, and Robert Fitzgerald Translation Prize (twice).

I accept Venmo, PayPal, Google Wallet, checks, and many other methods of payment. Please feel free to get in touch at for a free quote.
